Hi, I’m Rachelle
I'm a wife, mother, Chief Financial Officer, and advocate who is proud to call Harford County home.
My family chose Harford County nearly 20 years ago because we believed in its schools and its strong sense of community. Since then, my husband and I have raised our two sons here, built our careers here, and become deeply invested in the future of our schools.
As the parent of two neurodiverse sons, I have spent years working alongside teachers, specialists, counselors, administrators, and healthcare providers to help ensure they receive the support they need to succeed. Those experiences have given me a firsthand understanding of both the challenges families can face and the extraordinary impact dedicated educators can have on a child's life.
I've seen how meaningful collaboration between families and schools can change the trajectory of a child. I've also seen how important thoughtful leadership, transparency, and accountability are in building trust and achieving positive outcomes for students.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Sociology and Anthropology from Towson University, which strengthened my understanding of how communities and institutions work together to support individuals and families. That perspective continues to shape both my professional career and my approach to public service.
Professionally, I serve as a Chief Financial Officer with a background in finance, operations, and organizational leadership. My career has focused on helping organizations manage resources responsibly, improve performance, and make thoughtful decisions based on facts and long-term planning.
Prior to my current role, I operated my own financial and operational consulting business for more than 15 years, providing outsourced CFO and operations support to small businesses. That experience allowed me to work alongside business owners, solve complex challenges, and help organizations build sustainable systems for long-term success.
Those experiences have taught me the importance of accountability, transparency, and asking difficult questions when important decisions are being made. I believe those same principles are essential for effective Board of Education leadership.
Outside of my professional career, much of my time has been spent supporting my children,
advocating for students, and working alongside educators to help young people succeed. As a parent and advocate, I have developed a deep appreciation for the role public education plays in shaping the future of our community.
I believe strong schools are built through partnership among families, educators, students, and the broader community. When we listen to one another, focus on solutions, and keep students at the center of every decision, we create schools where all children have the opportunity to succeed.
I am running for the Harford County Board of Education because I believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, every educator deserves support and respect, and every family deserves confidence that decisions are being made with students' best interests in mind.
My experiences as a parent, advocate, and finance professional have prepared me to approach Board service with a commitment to collaboration, accountability, and thoughtful decision-making focused on student success.
